When it comes to protein, there are many different kinds you can intake. For example, a common protein is Whey protein. Containing all nine essential amino acids, studies have found that this protein can help with strength, muscle growth, as well as a loss of body fat.

Isolate is less milk sugar and fat as well as not having enough nutrients as concentrate protein but contains 90% or more of protein. Hydrolysate is pre-digested therefore will be absorbed faster. Along with this, it causes insulin levels to increase.

Overall, the best option is whey protein concentrate. It contains the most nutrients in whey and tastes the best.


Effects on Muscle Growth

Many people use a whey protein supplement to help with the growth of their muscle mass and strength.

There are 4 different ways whey protein helps with muscle and strength:

1. It is the building block for muscle growth.

2. It releases anabolic hormones to help stimulate muscle growth.

3. It contains leucine which helps increase muscle protein synthesis both at a molecular and genetic level.

4. It also is fast at absorbing.

Studies have been shown that consuming whey protein right before, after, or during a workout will increase muscle growth. For some individuals, whey protein may have a different effect on their muscle and strength. For someone who is eating a lot of high-quality protein such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy by adding whey protein may have little effect on their body.

Protein is known to help with weight loss. By replacing other calories with whey protein, it will help with weight loss and increase your muscle mass. Protein is known for boosting metabolism and reducing appetite.
