School lunches don’t have to be boring! We can raise the bar from the same old peanut butter and jelly (not that there’s anything wrong with that), chips, and juice boxes. How about hummus and carrots? Or edamame, sliced cucumber, kiwi, avocado, or a quesadilla? The sky
is the limit with all of the cool pack-and-go containers out there now. Get creative and step it up this year. With all of the sports and after school activities our children are involved in, they need foods that give them sustainable energy, so they aren’t crashing and burning at 3:00pm. Fill them up with whole foods. Foods filled with fiber, protein, vitamins and minerals. They will be the envy of the lunch table.
